We use a VPC 300 particle counter that uploads test samples to a website where you can immediately view the results of our test (as opposed to several days’ waiting time). Any particles measuring 0.3 microns must adhere to the World Health Organisation’s specifications on the safe limit of contamination. Particles this small can easily be inhaled into the lungs.
A test that fails this test can be treated in a few different ways. All treatments aim to clean and protect heating/cooling units in the contaminated area. Additionally, an air scrubbing treatment (decontamination) is available to target poor air quality. Energy Reduction Initiative
A great way to reduce energy usage is to clean the components of a cooling system with hydrophilic chemicals. These chemicals are anti-corrosive, anti-bacterial, anti-static, and anti-fungal, as well as food grade (colloid), and will allow the system to become self-cleaning.
