Termites
Termites are insect made-up of soft bodies that mostly lives in large colonies with several different castes, typically in a form of mound of cemented earth.
They exist everywhere around the world except Antarctica. These tiny creatures are normally very small in size, somewhere between 4 to 15 millimeters.
Having habitat of wood eating they can cause significant damage to unprotected buildings and other wooden structures.
Termites not only damage the wooden surfaces but also can cause damage to food crops. Termites may attack trees whose resistance to damage is low but generally ignore fast-growing plants. Most attacks occur at harvest time.
During rainfall termite activity multiplies and also become hazard for indoor. If you stumble across a termite nest on your property, don’t disturb it: termites might abandon the area, move elsewhere and remain undetected.
Control
Termite presence indoors generally need professional treatment for avoiding damage to the home or structure. When they find a way into your home, they won’t go away on their own. They will feed for years and years if they are allowed.
If you suspect termite activity in your home, it’s best to have a professional termite inspection carried out as soon as possible to determine the appropriate action plan. Ideally to avoid infestations, homeowners should have their home inspected annually for termites.
